My work is very environmentally friendly and I use materials that are normally regarded as ' natural waste' developing them into a range of guilt free wearable modern jewellery and unique furniture.
I make most of my designs out of local sourced hedgerow material, making on the spot decisions with every cut of the knife. It's a process of listening to what the wood wants to do and working with it. My work is very much material driven and I use a range of traditional craft techniques including wood turning, carving, rope making and steam bending.
I also produce ranges of jewellery based on a location and the woodland materials I collect there. Whether that be a busy London street market or a national trust woodland.
In an ever-changing world these skills are getting lost and I feel that it is important to retain them for future generations without harming the environment
